The Links Of Lake Bernadette is located in the picturesque town of Zephyrhills, few miles to the north of Tampa. This beautiful 18-hole golf course is one of the most prominent in the region and has been in existence since 1983. The pampas grass, the tall pine trees, the sand dunes, and the rolling fairway make it a delightful golf strip. Links Of Lake Bernadette is reminiscent of old Scottish links, with an excellent clubhouse and a distinct golf tradition. The link also has a ProShop that stocks the best of golf gear. Visit website for information on tee times.
Jump! That is it in a nutshell. You go up in a plane, jump out with a certified instructor and free fall for what is likely to seem a very long time before you pull the cord and open that parachute. Folks have been skydiving out here in the Zephyrhills area since the 1960s, and Skydive has been leaping into the air since 1989. After a short instructional course, you dive in tandem with an instructor, free falling for 60 seconds as you drop at 120mph from 13,500 feet. Charge for the dive plus pictures and a video is USD280. Check the website for details.
Featuring the longest natural drop of any golf course in the state, this golf course rates as being one of the top courses in the state of Florida by Golf Digest Magazine and features a championship 18 hole golf course and an executive nine hole course. If you're looking for the ultimate golfing experience you'll be sure to find it at Saddlebrook Resort's golf courses. As the World Headquarters of the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy you have quite a few options if you want instruction while you play. At the 18-hole golf courses in the resort, pristine greens with well-maintained shrubbery, accented with lakes, ponds and streams await you. The course is a different experience in itself. Call ahead to reserve a tee time or to inquire about one of the many instructional programs offered.
Located about 20 miles north of Tampa, the Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club is a wonderful club for families. This club house has it all: a restaurant, golf course, hot tubs, exercise and gaming rooms, a lounge area as well as pro shop. The golf course here is very challenging and offers great natural looks with lakes and wonderful landscaped grounds around. The Sunday Brunch is very popular with patrons as well, and the property rents out its banquet hall for weddings and other social events. Check the website for more details.
Lexington Oaks Golf Club is a 18-hole course that is challenging to the novices as well as the pros. Located in Wesley Chapel the course has features complete with many lakes, wetlands, dunes and other varying landscapes. Check out the Pro shop here, that has a wide range of golf t-shirts, hats and shoes, pick one and go off teeing in style! While you are on the course a visit to the Oaks restaurant is a must. The place can also be hired for banquets and other private events.
At 6,032 yards from the white tees, this par-71 course is short. The elevated greens are well defended by traps and have some radical slopes. There is also water on every single hole. There is one fairly long par-5 and a few of the par-4s exceed 400 yards, while the par-3s are comfortably short. Distance may not be the issue here, but surgical accuracy is. Pebble Creek Country Club is a semi-private golf course. Only soft spikes are allowed.
This par-72 course features greens with bigger-than-average slopes and there are a number of fairway traps, along with some stubborn rough. At Hunter's Green Country Club water intrudes on 10 holes so have your aqua-wings ready. The course, 6102 yards from the white tees, was designed by Tom Fazio, so you are assured of quality work. The par-3s are long from the Gold Tees. Two of the par-5s will stretch you as well, while the par-4s are in the average range. This is a private golf course. Soft spikes only.

The John B. Sargeant Park encircles the confluence of Flint Creek and Hillsborough River. This 23-acre (9.3-hecatre) woodland is replete with green and golden vegetation, a swampy terrain, and trails, boardwalks and bridges veiled by thick foliage. Some of their pathways connect to famous parks in the neighborhood. Visitors can also canoe, paddle or kayak along the river, which again leads to surrounding gardens. Other activities include hiking, fishing and spotting birds like the egret and ibis. This park also offers extensive picnic areas for relaxation.
At American Balloons, reaching new heights in outdoor entertainment is their goal. Take to the skies on a thrilling hot air balloon ride and enjoy the scenic views below as the balloon makes its way over the Tampa Bay landscape. Select a group ride with friends and family or choose a private couple's ride that can be customized for a special event or occasion. Tethered balloon rides are also available if you prefer to stay in one place. Feel like a bird as the hot air balloon glides along in an approximately hour-long ride. -Vickie Ferguson
This Arthur Hills track is quite pretty and, at 7004 yards, very challenging from the gold tees. However, the par-72 layout is interesting from whichever tees you choose to play (blue tees run a more reasonable 6418 yards). You will encounter water on 10 holes, along with some annoying and well-placed sand traps. As well, the greens contain plenty of rolls and bulges to keep you thinking. Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club is a private golf course. Soft spikes only.
