The Last Five Years
NextDoor Center for the ArtsJanuary 30, 2015 8:00 PM
40 Cross Street
Winchester, MA 01890
Told through inventive and heartrending songs, "The Last Five Years" is a two-person show that navigates the ins and outs -- the ups and downs -- of a marriage. Written by Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown ("Parade"), this is the story of a couple's five-year relationship, from the thrilling pangs of new love to their painful final separation. There is, however, a twist: The man relives the relationship from beginning to end, while the woman relates their story in reverse. The two characters' stirring and emotional timelines converge only once -- at their wedding in the middle of the show.

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike
Huntington Theatre (Boston University Theatre)January 30, 2015 8:00 PM
264 Huntington Avenue
Boston, MA 02115
The Tony Award winner for Best Play of 2013, Christopher Durang's hit Broadway satire sends up the classic dramas of Anton Chekhov through an absurdist tale of family dysfunction. But you don't have to be a student of Russian literature to appreciate this zany farce, which the "Associated Press" called "utterly refreshing." Siblings Vanya and Sonia live a quiet life in the Bucks County farmhouse where they grew up. But when their movie star sister, Masha, returns home unannounced with Spike, her 20-something boy toy, an unforgettable weekend ensues.
