With a congregation that was formed in 1880, Shaarey Zedek Synagogue is one of the oldest Jewish worship homes in Winnipeg. The first synagogue of this community was erected in 1890, on King street. In 1950 it moved to its current location on Wellington Crescent, on the southern bank of the Assiniboine River. Made of light gray stone, the structure features beautiful stained glass windows, which were styled by Leo Mol.
