Bars & Cafes
The Paddlewheel sits adjacent to the Main Street Lake Cruises boarding terminal on the banks of majestic Lake Taneycomo. The old-fashioned restaurant has great views over the lake and on the menu you'll find simple, American food like hot dogs, hamburgers, salads and the very popular fried pickles of course. If you can't find a table on the patio, inside the spacious seating area, you can catch the game or escape the cold and listen to live music. The Paddlewheel is perfect in the summer, that is probably why it's so crowded, but don't worry tables turn over quite fast.
The Emerald Isle makes its appearance in Branson with this Irish restaurant and bar that features great beer and even better pub grub. The menu offers sandwiches, burgers and salads alongside entrees like Shepherd's Pie, Irish Boxty and chicken made Wicklow style. The bar has all the beers you may know from Eire, like Guinness, Smithwick's and Bulmer's as well as many others. Moreover, there are always nightly specials on the menu and if you are holding an event, the 'Guinness Room' provides a great option. For more information on pub events, menu, etc., check their website.
Vintage Paris is a quaint little bar and coffeehouse located in nearby Hollister just across the White River. Here at Vintage Paris the owners hand-roast all of the beans and you can really taste the care with which they're made. All of the beans are obtained through fair-trade processes and in addition to java, the shop also sells wine and beer. All you need is free Wi-Fi (which they provide), a comfy couch and some relaxed conversation.
Ruby Lena's typifies the small business owner with this tea-room located inside a quaint house on Main Street. Ruby Lena's does not just serve tea however, here guests can get a whole meal as well. The menu has different items depending on the whims of the kitchen, yet the cooks always have great soups, salads and sandwiches ready at a moment's notice. This spot is also known for its delectable desserts, so don't forget to try a pie before you leave!
Ernie Biggs Dueling Piano Bar brings the liveliness of the piano to this part of the Ozarks. However, it isn't always pianos, because on certain nights, Ernie provides DJs or other entertainment. The drink specials run all week long with barkeeps that can mix up a strong drink. Ernie also serves pub grub like sandwiches, burgers and fries. From Thursday to Saturday the bar closes in the wee hours of the morning and all other days it closes at midnight. Check website for calendar of performers and events.
