The Royal Theatre began in 1913 as a roadhouse, and was used shortly thereafter as a cinema until 1981. It has since been renovated both inside and out to transform it into the facility that it is today. Victoria Symphony and Pacific Opera Victoria performances can be enjoyed here. This venue can house up to 1,416 audience members. Metro Studio was opened by the Intrepid Theatre Company Society in 1986. The place is home to festivals, solo performances and alternative theater. The Alix Goolden Performance Hall is a circular 19th century hall which was named after a woman who contributed to the music school in Victoria.
