Hub-Bub The Showroom is exactly that, it's a place that tries to foster and display the talents of young and emerging local artists. Inside, visitors will find an artists gallery and floor space that hosts everything from photography workshops to live music performances. The showroom definitely has something for all age groups as well.
Operating since the early 1960s, the Regional History Museum is a great place to get lost in the rich history of this growing but quaint South Carolina town. A distinctive range of artifacts are on display at this classy location. Recently relocated to the Chapman Cultural Center, Spartanburg County Regional History Museum hosts exhibitions regularly. Recently relocated inside the Chapman Cultural Center, the Spartanburg Science Center is a great non-profit organization that promotes scientific knowledge to the local community. The science center has a variety of programs offered to children of all ages throughout the year, as well as winter and summer camps. Although the center is a member-driven organization, it is open to the public for a small fee.
Located in the Chapman Cultural Center, the Spartanburg Art Museum is a great artistic outlet for both visitors and locals. With rotating exhibits that show a variety of mediums like sculpture, pop art, watercolors and antique restoration, the museum has something for every art enthusiast. For both children and adults, the museum offers educational programs to hone your artistic talents in drawing, pottery, sculpture, jewelry making, basket-weaving and stained glass. Art camps are also a great way to get children involved and inspired by local artists.
The Chapman Cultural Center is a vital part of the Spartanburg community. The Center provides ample space for arts to flourish; with the David Reid Theatre, Black Box Theatre and the Spartanburg Dance Center, the events range from plays and musicals to modern dance. Additionally housed within the center, visitors will find the Spartanburg Art Museum, the Artists' Guild as well as some student galleries.
The Artists' Guild Gallery is in the Chapman Cultural Center. There are monthly art exhibits, some of which showcase art available for purchase. This gallery features art in a variety of forms, from contemporary and fine art to sculptures and photography.
This little museum in West Spartanburg is a great place to visit for those who love trains, especially if you have children. Inside visitors will find miniature trains of course, but they can also learn about the history of trains and how they shaped the formation of Greenville as well as Spartanburg. There is a replica caboose on-site and kids can hop aboard various mini-train rides.
