Collett Park was founded in 1883 on lands donated by philanthropist Josephus Collett. The locality surrounding the park is called the Collett Park Neighborhood Historic District.
Spread over 177 acres (71.6294 hectares), Deming Park features tennis courts, baseball diamonds and a playground for recreational use. The Clark-Lansdbaum Holly Arboretum is situated inside it.
