Anaconda Bar is situated inside Monte Sagrado Living Resort & Spa (El) and is a favorite hang out amongst most of the guests. It is named Anaconda Bar because of the large anaconda structure that snakes itself across the ceiling. As night falls you can find all of Taos' fun loving people enjoying themselves at Anaconda Bar which is also known for some good live entertainment. Check out the 1100 gallon salt water aquarium and sample some of the many tapas offered. Step in with a bunch of friends and sip on the many fun cocktail mixes or margaritas.
This dining nugget captures the true essence of Taos. Its walls are festooned with local art, two-fireplaces cast a warm glow, the back patio during summer, cascades with a color wheel of flowers, and the kitchen is open-air allowing diners to observe the chef at work. The menu complements this feel, too. The Creole Pepper Shrimp and the Roast Duck are two of the most popular items. The Vesuvio Chicken is a poultry fans dream dish; pasta lovers have many noodle options to choose from.
Cold in-house brewed beer, an outside patio, live music on the weekends, specials, and great food is all you need and you can get it here. Menu items include green chile burritos, veggie burgers, and a Mediterranean salad sampler.
Adobe Bar is a popular local meeting spot. Nestled in the lovely lobby of The Historic Taos Inn it is also lovingly called 'the living room of Taos'. It is more known for its live acts and musical nights. Enjoy the wide range of music played at this affable watering hole. Sip on margaritas like Fire on the Mountain, Cowboy Buddha and Buddha Añejo while tapping your feet to the lively tunes. Dig into their burgers, pork ribs and nachos to curb your hunger pangs or head to the inn's restaurant. Its traditional viga latilla ceilings and alcoves along with cozy couches give it an intimate feel.
A restaurant, micro-brewery and live music venue rolled into one, Taos Mesa Brewing guarantees a good time. You can stop by for a full-fledged meal, a quick drink, or maybe just to catch a live musical act. The beer you are offered is brewed on-site, and every season brings with it some new specials. As for the music, you can take your pick from among three discrete areas; one indoor stage, a small stage beside the patio, and another that affords views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains.
Opened in the 1990s as an extension to the restaurant downstairs, The Martini Tree Bar has gradually created a niche for itself as a vibrant hangout. Locals as well as tourists walk into this little rustic setup to enjoy the daily drinks specials and munch on tantalizing appetizers. Shoot down a glass of Bloody Mary and challenge your friends on the pool tables that are placed in the corner of the bar. Famous artists/ bands on tour take the center stage of the bar who give out awesome original tunes, much to the delight of the music lovers. And if history interests you, then you can glances through the wall which elegantly displays the past of this magnificent ski valley. Call ahead or visit their website for more information.
