Located in Tallahassee, Florida, the St. John's Episcopal Church is a historic church built in 1881. An excellent example of Late Gothic Revival, the stone and red brick structure of the church features stained glass windows. The lawns of the church are well maintained too. The site was added to the list of National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
History buffs will enjoy taking a walk down the Park Avenue Historic District located between Park Avenue and Call Street to experience some of the city’s notable past. The oldest building in the district, The Columns, dates back to 1830, and now houses the Tallahassee Area Chamber of Commerce. If you are hunting for some antique pieces, The Murphy House is just the place for you. Other buildings of interest include The First Presbyterian Church, Knott House and the Old City cemetery.
Established in 1931 as a chapel for the Florida State College for Women, the Ruge Hall still stands firm on its ground. Built with the Late Gothic Revival style of architecture, this beautiful structure today serves the students of three different colleges. Often called as the Chapel of the Resurrection, this charming building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
The Pisgah United Methodist Church is a monumental church site. It is a distinguished church that was erected in 1858. The church site also features in the National Register of Historic Places. The building brilliantly exemplifies the Greek Revival style of architecture.
