Housing Arizona's largest collection of exotic animals, Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium is located west of Phoenix and offers loads of excitement for kids and adults alike. A must-visit for any animal lover is the baby animal nursery. With over 500 species of animals housed in the zoo, there are many little ones you can watch being cared for. Other attractions include the children's petting zoo, the African safari ride, and the lory parrot feeding. Keep the kids engaged while you enjoy your lunch at Dillon's Restaurant, located next to the shark tank inside the aquarium. Congo Cooker is a good option if you prefer light eats.

    First of its kind in the United States, this no-fee park opened in 1988 without barriers for people with handicaps. Privately funded, this facility was built at a cost of $2.5 million.     »Arizona Buddhist Temple

    Arizona Buddhist Temple carries the distinction of being the oldest Buddhist temple in the state. Built in the 1930s, it was closed for a time during World War II, then ravaged by fire and rebuilt in 1961. Affiliated with the Buddhist Churches of America and Nishi Hongwanji in Kyoto, Japan, the temple is open to all people to hear the Dharma together as one family.
