The structure has three sections namley the tavern, the shop and the barn. It is called so since it was originally painted Black. It is now a white building, covered with clapboard, has a porch on the front and a stable on the north side. There are no regular visiting hours, and the authorities need to be contacted for arranging a visit. They are also open for small events like weddings and meetings.
The historic Ware Town Hall was constructed in 1885 and is a fine example of the Romanesque style of architectural design. This structure was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
The renowned Roseland Cottage is a monumental home in Woodstock, Connecticut and is registered in the National Register of Historic Places. It ably traces the Gothic Revival style of architecture; the house is also famously referred as the Henry C. Bowen House or Bowen Cottage. Constructed in 1796, the Benjamin Bosworth House is a historic mansion that belonged to Benjamin Bosworth. Architect Vinni Goodell was commissioned to design this Federal style house. This residence features different aspects of a house like workshop, laundry, kitchen and so forth, that were prevalent in that era. It was added to the National Register of Historical Places in 1978.
The Moore State Park is 400-acres (about 162-hectares) of dedicated outdoor and open space. The park is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
