State College, PA 16801
A native of Mount Kisco, New York, Dar Williams released her debut CD The Honesty Room in 1993. Dar Williams is a gardener of melodies through gentle feminine ballads that require you take a moment to stop and take deep breathes of fresh air. She has often times posed political and ethical questions in her songs like "When I Was a Boy" from her debut and "The Business of Things" from her 2007 release Promised Land. In addition to her music, Williams has authored three books entitled The Tofu Tollbooth, Amalee, and Lights, Camera, Amalee. Dar Williams is not afraid to speak her mind, much like one of her favorite songwriters Joan Baez.

The Smithereens

At first listen, The Smithereens sound like a group that's fronted by a bunch of young 20-year-olds who spend their time drinking beer and ogling girls at the local beach or swimming hole. This is true, or at least it was. The New Jersey based power pop group was formed in 1980 when all the band's members were youngsters, but as time has worn on, the musicians have aged and are no longer the young bucks that they once were. Their old(er) age hasn't stopped them from rocking - the group is in top shape and a Smithereens concert is a sure fire nostalgic trip that's undoubtedly fun.

Allen Stone

420 East College Avenue
State College, PA 16801
Despite his quirky style and awkward facial expressions, Allen Stone has a surprisingly smooth RnB-inflected voice. The singer/songwriter grew up in a small American rural town and sang at his father's church regularly, but after discovering soul records by Marvin Gaye and Aretha Franklin, Stone altered his style of music significantly. Since then, Stone has developed a pop-friendly blue-eyed soul sound akin to Jason Mraz and John Mayer, and has quickly built up a fan base at the young age of 24.
