    The Stylistics is a Philadelphia-based soul vocal group that was founded in 1968. Throughout the 1970s, the band was able to score a number of US hits, that typically featured the impressive falsetto of the group's lead singer, Russell Thompkins. The group has gone through a few lineup changes through its existence, but has always managed to uphold its characteristic vocal prowess and command of stage during live performances.

    WAR ON THE HOME FRONT To mark the centenary of the First World War, Alexandra Palace will launch their ‘War on the Home Front’ exhibition, this pop up temporary exhibition will allow visitors the rare chance to explore the history of Alexandra Palace’s role 100 years ago. Between 1914 & 1918 Alexandra Palace was first home to thousands of Belgians fleeing the German invasion before becoming an internment camp for non- naturalised German, Austrian and Hungarian men who were considered a danger to the UK’s war effort. The exhibition will uncover the personal stories and experiences of those imprisoned at the camp and the dramatic change in local attitudes to how the Palace was being used. War on the Home Front is part of a London-wide project ‘the Children of the Great War’. The 18-month project set out to capture how families across London were affected by the war, as well as to explore what subsequent generations carried with them from that experience. This timed ticketed event will be open Thursday mornings, Friday afternoons and the first Saturday of every month.

Learn of their experiences and stories as well as the role the Palace played during this war. Discover the personal stories of those that stayed in the Palace, telling of their loves and losses and of the effect upon the families of a refugee and internee. War on the Home Front is part of a London-wide project ‘the Children of the Great War’.     Get up close and personal with the Canadian collective reinventing ice skating. As part of Dance Umbrella’s mission to celebrate 21st century choreography, iconoclastic ice skaters Le Patin Libre come to Ally Pally Ice Rink. In this specially commissioned double bill they share their signature mix of movement, wit, speed and grace. Le Patin Libre (Free Skate) is a five-strong collective of prize-winning skaters who are creating a new kind of ice dancing, way beyond the confines of traditional figure skating. Having started out performing on frozen ponds and canals in their hometown of Montreal, the company now come to London to present a full-length evening of work. In influences the performers play with how our body language can influence others, even with just a casual glance. In the second piece Vertical, audiences are invited to view the artists up close, with seating on the ice (dress warmly…). “The anti-Dancing on Ice” TIME OUT A Dance Umbrella and National Arts Centre, Canada commission. In partnership with Sadler’s Wells and their home away from home Ally Pally.
