Completed in 1973, G.B. Hodge Center is the home to the Spartans, the basketball team of the University of South Carolina Upstate. With its capacity of 1535 seats, the arena is an excellent setting for different events and celebrations.

This place has been here since time immemorial and inside the drinks are strong, the music is loud and everyone is usually friendly. Located within the heart of Spartanburg, the Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds is a grand venue that is most often used for trade shows and fairs. With over a century behind them, Wofford College has distinguished itself as a top Southern University attracting both local and international students. The liberal arts college campus rests on 170 acres (69 hectares) of land in Spartanburg and offers 26 major fields of study ranging from a number of diverse subjects. Wofford is a small institution that enrolls about 1500 students every academic year and offers a small but bustling college-town community with many activities, extra-curriculars, sports and arts programs to its students. Greek life is a big part of the Wofford College life with almost half of all the students participating in fraternities or sororities every year.
Gibbs Stadium is the home to the Wofford College Terriers football team, along with Spartanburg High School football. With a capacity to accommodate almost 13,000 people, it hosts variety of events.
One of the premier facilities on the campus of the Wofford College, and also one of the premier arenas in the city, Benjamin Johnson Arena has earned a revered position in the sports scene of the city. Built in 1981, and operating as The Citadel for several decades, this arena boasts a parquet floor, a rare feature, which makes for a good game of basketball. There are 22 parks located throughout Spartanburg. The main one is Barnet Park, which sits on seven acres (three hectares) of green land and has a lovely walking path that extends for a full two miles (three kilometers). In the park is the Zimmerli Amphitheatre, which plays hosts to various concerts and shows throughout the year. The park is also dressed with an interactive water fountain, pavilion and art sculptures.
The Chapman Cultural Center is a vital part of the Spartanburg community. The Center provides ample space for arts to flourish; with the David Reid Theatre, Black Box Theatre and the Spartanburg Dance Center, the events range from plays and musicals to modern dance. Additionally housed within the center, visitors will find the Spartanburg Art Museum, the Artists' Guild as well as some student galleries.
Located in the Chapman Cultural Center, the David Reid Theatre has been host to great performances, community events and large gatherings for private events. There are side parterres and a balcony that adds to the allure of this classically styled theater. This horse-shoe shaped venue can has 500 seats available. The Spartanburg Little Theatre use this space for their productions throughout the year.
