Opened in 2003, Legends of Notre Dame is owned and run by the University of Notre Dame. It comprises of a restaurant, alehouse and a nightclub which is also a concert space. While the diner and bar is open to the public, the nightclub is only open to the university students or by invitation. The typical American menu also has healthier options for the calorie conscious. Their pub has a fine list of draught beer, bottled varieties, craft brews, wine and spirits.
Located on the north-east edge of South Bend, Linebacker Lounge is situated right opposite the University of Notre Dame. This lounge was originally established by in 1962, and is located in a renovated drive inn. Though the management has changed hands over the years, the exceptional service and casual ambiance has not. This intimate dive bar hosts live music on weekends which features local as well as national artists/ bands on tour.
