    »Vestby Kirke

    Included amongst Norway's Cultural Heritage sites, Vestby kirke was built in 1885. Mainly consisting of stonework, it seats 450 people. Various services such as choir training for children, concerts, get-together lunches for adults are offered to the members of its congregation.

    This Hvitsten area is one of the most appreciated in the city. The organic farm is famous for fresh fruits and vegetables. Not only for organic produce, this place is also suitable for special events and concerts that can accommodate about 1500 guests. The amphitheater can also be used, for performing arts and events for approximately 200 guests. You may also want to see their vintage and antique collections.     »Horten Church

    Designed by Christian Hernik Grosch in 1856, the Horten Church is essentially a local community church. Many artifacts including the stained glass work by Veslemoy Nystedt Stoltenberg, were destroyed in a bomb attack of 1920; but despite the turbulence the church has stood strong as a safe haven of faith. Today the church offers several community services like activities for new parents, day care, summer and hobby camps for children and much more.

    »Drøbak Aquarium (Drøbak Akvarium)

    Drøbak Aquarium was founded in 1995 and is one of Drbak's greatest tourist attractions. The aquarium contains most underwater species that live in the Oslo fjord, the fjord with the highest number of species in Norway. 100 different kinds of organisms live here in the aquarium that contain the clean water of the fjord. The aquarium is divided into four sections and is constantly expanding. Guided tours can be arranged (also in English) for a maximum of 20 people, and last about one hour.

    »Tregaardens Julehus

    This is a house full of Christmas all year round. Norway's largest Christmas shop, this is also Santa's main post office in Norway, with its own official postage stamp. The shop answers letters addressed to Father Christmas by children from all over the world. A collection of 200,000 letters from children is on display in the tourist information office, next to Julehuset ("Christmas House"). A nice day trip can be made from Oslo, here to Drobak.     »Drøbak Kirke

    The Drøbak kirke was established in 1776. It is essentially a wooden church that displays the carvings and artworks of the Jaspersen brothers. After the many damages it suffered through the ages, it was restored in 1936 under the leadership of Domenico Erdmann. With a location that remains scenic no matter what the season is, it is also quite a popular venue for weddings and local concerts.

    »Oscarsborg Fortress

    Located at the northwest Drobak sound, Oscarsborg Fortress will surely take you by surprise. It is named after the famous King Oscar after his visit in the 1855. The interesting history it carries with it, dates back to the 1800's; the oldest buildings built in 1846 and 1853. The main idea of building this fortress was protection from the possible attacks. This fortress also features a wide number of entertainment venues, exhibitions, art galleries, restaurants as well as spas and recreation activities for children.     »Askim Kirke

    The old Askim kirke was a Romanesque stone structure that dated back to 1200s. The current church, consecrated in 1878 is essentially a wooden building designed by Jacob Wilhelm Nordan that seats 350 people. A local church now, Askim offers various services  and arranges many activities for its parishioners like day care, educational concerts, theater, counseling and such to promote well-being of the community.

    »Skiptvet Church

    The original stone church of Skiptvet was built between 1150 and 1200. After the restoration under Architect Harald Sund and painter Ulrik Hendriksen in 1937; the altarpiece and the pulpit by Albert Lobach are the only remaining artifacts from the old church. Today the church offers the community with not only worship but also services like day care and much more.

    The municipality of Tønsberg derives its name from the Norse word Túnsberg meaning a fenced garden.
