Karlsson & Co is a bar, restaurant, nightclub and casino, situated in the heart of Stockholm. If you want to party for a reasonable price, this is the right place. Open six days a week, different evenings have special themes—Monday and Tuesday are nostalgia nights, with soft music and slow dancing. On Wednesday it is Göknästet/Pankåmat, and Thursday night is tax-free for government employees.
It is the decor that sets the mood for this lively bar and restaurant called Golden Hits. With wooden furnishings, stained-glass backdrops, diffused lighting, musical instruments hanging down from the ceiling, ABBA posters and the gramophone record, this is one groovy venue. Golden Hits is a perfect place with an awesome crowd, great food and live music.
Part of Sturesplans, a group of well-known establishments, White Room can easily be mistaken for a restaurant. The fresh flowers at the bar just accentuate the feeling. But as soon as the clock strikes one in the night, the party gets started and the place comes alive to the groovy tunes. The young and chic crowd who can afford the high cover charge are usually seen frequenting the place.
Like an oasis in the middle of the city, between the bustling streets of Malmskillnadsgatan och Regeringsgatan, Glenn Miller Café has been a haven for jazz lovers ever since. Without changing the style or altering the decor, this place has managed to stay popular for generations. On certain nights, live jazz is played by high brow bands. Mostly, jazz lovers bring their own favorite jazz records to play on vinyl, of course. They would consider CD-players an insult. The venue is very small but extremely pleasant. The walls are covered with jazz photos and instruments. The food is mainly American. On the menu are burgers and steaks, but also more original and innovative crossover style meals.
Tre Remmare is the largest "folk casino" in Sweden, where you can play every day, all year, until the wee hours of the morning. It is crowded all the time. Close to the restaurant there is a wine cellar, where all the bottles are visible through a glass wall. If you are a fan of Ol' Blue Eyes, you can listen to his music at the Frank Sinatra Bar.
A good mix of bands, both known and unknown, play live music. DJ´s pump the latest in heavy metal and old classics.
It is not so much the food, which is mostly traditional Swedish dishes, but the atmosphere and history that everyone comes to soak up here. This legendary restaurant/club/bar has been around for three generations. Jazz is its trademark, and the whole range, from traditional jazz to soul and acid jazz, can be enjoyed here. Have dinner before the show; that way you do not have to pay the entrance fee and are guaranteed a place in the evening's performance. The place also organizes weekly After Work Jazz sessions from 7p. The admission is free. In the evenings, it turns into a hip club with a different theme every night.
In the early decades of the 1900s, this was the ultimate Mecca for jazz-lovers. It all ended in the 1960s, but Nalen is now back with a vengeance. A magnificent entrance with fake marble and chandeliers welcomes you. The Large Hall is beautiful with its arched and decorated ceiling, gold ornaments, draperies and enormous mirrors. This is where many bands perform and the acoustics in the hall are excellent. One of the most happening joints of the 50s, it maintains the ambiance of it's original glory days. A jazzy and glitzy place, this nightclub holds a legendary status in Stockholm. The food is good but is nothing compared to the rhythms played. The open times keep changing, please visit the website for more details.
This club is known for its raw, unfiltered culture. Live performances, live music, poetry, comedy and ambient techno DJs are amongst what you find here. Anything could happen, and it usually does when Sekt goes for it!
