Have you ever heard the term New Circus? It is a circus form that developed in France during the 1980s. It drew inspiration from performance art, street artistes and rock 'n' roll rather than from the traditional circus with its plumed horses and tightrope walkers. They also have an open stage, where they encourage circus artistes from all over Sweden to come and perform new tricks in front of the audience.

The shows always start at noon. Buy the tickets in Stadsteatern ticket office in Kulturhuset. One of the prominent figures of the soup theater is Helge Skoog, a well-known Swedish actor both on the stage and at the movies. Fria Teatern is a gem, hidden away behind a school in Högdalen's city center. The fact that the theater is located outside of Stockholm does not detract from the quality of the productions. A couple of years ago, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was staged here. There is a bar in the lobby where you can have a drink while waiting to be let into the intimate auditorium, which has about 200 seats. High-quality theater is produced consistently here.

There is a mixed repertoire, with both box office hits and art films. Ticket prices: SEK 70-80.
