This history of Oktoberteatern goes back to 1973 and over the years they have churned out more than 55 productions including classics like West Side Story. It has been a hub for multi-cultural productions that bring together immigrants from all over Sweden. The company works for bringing people from all walks of life together, binding them with theatre.
Located at the heart of Södertälje, the pretty Wendela Hebbes Hus overlooks the Södertälne Canal. Named for, and dedicated to the first female journalist of Sweden, Wendela Hebbes, this is a multidimensional space on Vettersgatan. The site is home to a museum, a shop, a restaurant, an art gallery and lots more. Open from Mondays through Fridays, between 11a and 4p, Wendela Hebbes Hus offers an interesting insight into the lives of women in the early 1900s. Bårsta IP is a sports ground in Södertälje which primarily plays host to football games. The stadium has a capacity to seat a maximum of 7,600 spectators, and until 2005 was the home ground of Assyriska.

Have you ever heard the term New Circus? It is a circus form that developed in France during the 1980s. It drew inspiration from performance art, street artistes and rock 'n' roll rather than from the traditional circus with its plumed horses and tightrope walkers. Cirkus Cirkör is, so far, the only new circus in Sweden. They have made a home for themselves at Medborgarhuset. They also have an open stage, where they encourage circus artistes from all over Sweden to come and perform new tricks in front of the audience.
Spread across more than 2200 square meters (23,680 square feet), the Hangaren is a multi-functional event space which was added to the Subtopia in 2010. This mammoth venue is host to various local and international circus troupes on tour as well as large scale theater productions and concerts through out the year. A wooden building of bold colors and lines and sprawling grounds surrounding it, the Ekebyhovs Slott is a castle built in the 17th century by Field Marshall Count Carl Gustaf Wrangel. The original stone castle which was built by Klas Horn at an earlier time no longer stands here. The luxurious interiors as well as the outside of the newer castle, however, were fully renovated by a well-known architect by the name of Ove Hidemark. Today, the place is used as a venue for social and cultural events, conferences, weddings and other private events.
During the summer, the Park Theater's productions are shown in many parks throughout Stockholm. They perform everything from musicals like "Hair" to children's theater and the Flamenco.
