The Ole Miss Rebels (known prior to 1936 as the "Mississippi Flood") represents the intercollegiate sports teams and athletic programs of the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. The university competes with Division I standing as a member of the Southeastern Conference. Ole Miss has maintained a long-standing and decorated history in intercollegiate sports since the school began its football program in 1890. In addition to the team's outstanding achievements in football, baseball and basketball, the Rebels continue to shine in various non-varsity sports, such as men's lacrosse and rugby.

The University of Arkansas is a public research university based out of Fayetteville, Arkansas that was founded in 1871. The Razorbacks are the sports teams that compete for the school in the NCAA Division I Southeastern Conference. Originally called the Cardinals, the student/teacher body voted to change the sports teams name to the Razorbacks in 1910. Though the university's athletic department hosts a number of varied teams, it is probably best known for its football, basketball and baseball teams.

Jeanne Robertson (or Jeanne Swanner Robertson) is a professional speaker and humorist from Graham, North Carolina who, in addition to being named Miss North Carolina in 1963, is known for her statuesque presence on-stage as a woman who is over 6'2" tall. Since achieving national fame as a successful pageant model, Robertson went on to become one of the Southern United State's funniest female speakers, and she continues to shine as one of the speaking circuit's top talents.
