The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion is one of the largest stupas in the world and is home to the Jade Buddha for Universal Peace. The Buddha statue made of pure jade is a replica of the Buddha statue in the Mahabodhi Temple of Gaya. Weighing four tonnes, the 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall statue was blessed by the Dalai Lama. The stupa houses relics and statues of the Buddha. The large gardens surrounding the structure offer peace and respite to the tourists that flock here annually.
