Hunter Hayes is a country music singer/songwriter from Nashville who came into the spot light after being signed to Atlantic Records in 2011. Hayes recevied an accordion, his first musical instrument, at the age of two and by the time he was four years old, he began appearing at local performances and on national television. On his first album with a major label, a self-titled effort released in 2011, he played every instrument and co-produced the finished product with Dann Huff. In addition to his instrument repertoire, Hayes' vocals earned him comparisons to Gary Levox, the lead singer of Rascal Flatts who Hayes had previous worked with. Along with singer and actress Victoria Justice, Hayes recorded the 1984 hit "Almost Paradise" for the 2011 remake of Footloose.

Originally called Artlord & the Self Portraits, Future Islands formed in Greenville, North Carolina in early 2003, playing countless raging house shows and building up their fan base in the process. The band switched its name to Future Islands in 2006, and also altered its lineup and stage performance style. The band's rhythmic synth punk is infectious and dance floors all over the world go crazy whenever the band steps on stage.

    The New Deal

Watching an electronic musician play track after track of unrelenting electro can get to be a little lethargic. It's not particularly visually engaging and can get boring rather quick if you're not drunk or on some mind altering substance. This is why three Canadians banded together and formed The New Deal in 1998 with the intention of creating music that sounds like its being produced by a music program, but in actuality is being created by three intelligent musicians playing bass, drums and keyboards. The style of music The New Deal creates is aptly called livetronica.

    David Wax Museum

    123 Pitkin Road
    Plainfield, VT 05667
American indie pop groups don't reach into the well of Mexican music for influence all that often. Boston-based duo, The David Wax Museum, however, is proving to be an exception. The group blends Latin rhythms, Americana, indie folk and acoustic rock together into one energetic whole, and then punctuates it all with mariachi guitars and horn blasts. While David Wax and Suz Slezak form the core of the band, the David Wax Museum expands on record and onstage to incorporate mandolins, upright bass and drums. The band began to gain attention thanks to a successful performance at the 2010 Newport Folk Festival, which spawned tour dates with the likes of the Old 97s and the Avett Brothers.
