Boombox is the duo of beat-maker Russ Randolf and guitarist/singer Zion Rock Godchaux. When playing live the pair will often jam out on segments of a tune and work extremely hard to make it seem as though the set is just endlessly flowing from song to song--the band calls this process putting on a "longball" show. Visions of Backbeat, the group's debut record, was released in 2005 and is full of psychedelic disco melodies that are accompanied at live performances by light shows and live painters.

San Francisco duo Om was born in 2003 from the rhythm section of the stoner metal band Sleep. Basing its song structure on Tibetan chanting and full of haunting Middle Eastern stringed instruments, the band retains the epic length and quality musicianship of Sleep, but creates a more world-influenced type of music than its former project.

Born and raised in Austin, Minnesota, a small town most notable for producing most of the world's Spam, Charlie Parr definitely gives the impression that he is from a country town a little off the beaten path. The singer/songwriter plays a resonator guitar, open-backed banjo and 12-string guitar in a style akin to old Piedmont blues. His raspy vocals croon both old gospels and new material to an equally powerful effect. Since first releasing his music in 2002, Parr has developed a strong following in Australia and New Zealand after being featured in a prominent television ad for Vodaphone. Rather procreative, Parr consistently released albums and tours fairly regularly.
