»Whidbey Childrens Theater Presents Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

March 01, 2015 2:00 PM

Adapted from the popular 1968 children's film, this beloved story soars to new heights on stage. First produced in London's West End in 2002, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang tells the story of eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts and his children. When wealthy Truly Scrumptious takes an interest in the family, Caractacus attempts to sell his new toy to her father in order to buy an old racecar for the children. The fixed up racecar becomes Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, a vehicle that takes them into an imaginary world as Caractucus weaves fantastical stories about the magical other world. This soaring, imaginative story is brought to vivid life onstage with rousing musical numbers.

Stanley Lambchop is just an average boy who wants to do something really amazing. One night, the bulletin board above his bed falls right on top of him, squashing him flat! He discovers that as a flat person he can slide under locked doors, roll up like a mat and even put himself in a big envelope and travel around the world! From Hollywood to France to Honolulu, Stanley thwarts a robbery at the Louvre Museum and even learns to surf as he searches for the key to becoming a three-dimensional boy again in this fun Village Theatre Pied Piper production at Everett Civic Auditorium.
