»Imagine Dragons

April 18, 2015 9:00 PM

Founded in 2008, Imagine Dragons is a four-piece indie rock/pop outfit from Las Vegas. After winning various battle of the bands competitions, the band entered the studio for the first time and released two EPs, 2008's Speak to Me and a self-titled 2009 offering. The band's punchy sound quickly resonated with audiences, and once its 2012 single "It's Time" was featured in the trailer of the anticipated film adaptation of novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Imagine Dragons began to cross the line between the realms of indie and mainstream rock music. The band released its anticipated debut album Night Visions, in 2012.

Seether is a post-grunge band from South Africa that was formed in 1999 by Shaun Morgan Welgemoed, Dale Stewart and Dave Cohoe. Under that name Saron Gas, the band released its debut album Fragile, in 2000 before adopting the name Seether before the release of 2002's Disclaimer. Its sophomore effort earned the band national fame and eventually international recognition after Seether was chosen as the opening act for Evanescence's world tour. »Christina Perri

April 24, 2015 9:00 PM

Christina Perri is a tattooed singer-songwriter from Philadelphia who came into the professional spotlight in 2010 when Billy Bell and Kathryn McCormick, two contestants on So You Think You Can Dance, did a brilliant performance set to her song "Jar of Hearts". Perri has a definitive rocker's personality when it comes to writing songs like "Bang, Bang, Bang" where she lets a bit of grit come out of her voice during the bitter choruses when she sings a story about a girl shooting her ex-boyfriend "Bang she shot you, karma tastes so sweet". Live, Christina Perri often plays acoustic guitar, even though on her albums she favors a heavy piano sound.

»Monsters Of Rock 2015 - Saturday

April 25, 2015 10:00 AM

It's difficult to define one of the most iconic careers in heavy metal and British rock 'n roll at large. The original lead singer of Black Sabbath, Ozzy embarked on a solo career in the early 1980s, culminating in an over 40-year-long career. Osbourne is a notable performer, known for his extreme behavior and wild attitude. He has ignited some controversy over the years due to the dark imagery and hardcore lifestyle represented in his music, but he remains revered by many for his contributions to heavy metal and rock 'n roll. In 2002, he premiered a reality show on MTV, The Osbournes, which became a runaway smash-hit, re-igniting his celebrity with a whole new generation of fans.

»Monsters of Rock: Ozzy Osbourne Judas Priest & Motorhead

April 25, 2015 1:00 PM

Judas Priest formed in Birmingham, England in 1970 when hard rock was in its infancy. As the group played on and on, honing its sound, it was able to champion a distinct metal sound that fused gothic doom with guitar riffs played at a vicious speed. A necessary predecesor to the speed and death metal of the '80s, Judas Priest came to be know as the "Gods of Metal." Though lead singer Rob Halford left the band for a period of time, he returned and now the band is once again a harrowing metal powerhouse.
