Every Monday the Edutainment crew play a combination of reggae, dancehall and hip hop but you can also expect to hear some soul, classic funk, wild dubstep or whatever else the resident WBLK DJ or special guest is feeling on that evening. Monday Night Edutainment is a free and welcoming celebration of life and music, where the movement is focused on keeping the dancefloor moving while serving up conscious and positive vibes. There's a reason the massive has been steadily dancing on Monday nights in Sebastopol for over a decade. Come find out why and join the family!**************************************Some press for Monday Night Edutainment:Monday Milestone - Ten years of 'Edutainment"In the 10 years since, MNE has moved across the street to the Hopmonk Tavern and cultivated more than a dance scene. Guest DJs bring their crates. Headliners like Gyptian, Capleton and Ky-Mani Marley drop in with a live band. The overall sense is open-mindedness and positivity. Some call it a vibe. Others call it family."http:www.bohemian.combohemian06.08.11music-1123.htmlBless up, Sebastopol!"Even as they helped to expand the area's musical horizons, for the WBLK Dancehall Massive duo the mission continues- not only to play reggaes best new jams, but to bring freshness to the Sebastopol music scene."http:www.sfbg.comnoise20100322bless-sebastopol**************************************Every Monday @ the Hopmonk Tavern* $8 & Ladies FREE b4 11pm(unless otherwise noted)* $3 Red Stripes & $4 Jameson Shots All Night

The ensemble features Tim Palmieri on guitar (The Breakfast), Robert Somerville on tenor sax (Deep Banana Blackout), Todd Stoops on keyboards (RAQ), Christopher DeAngelis on bass guitar (The Breakfast) and Adrian Tramontano on drums/percussion (The Breakfast).Gene Washington & The IronsidesDeveloped in 2010 by SF Bay Area natives, brothers Max and Joe Ramey, The Ironsides originated as a studio project dedicated to the revival of 60's and 70's soul music, with emphasis on a vivid cinematic, soundtrack vibe. Since the recording of their first 45 record released by the acclaimed Colemine Records, The Ironsides have moved into Soul with a capital "S" harkening back to the golden days of Stax and Motown. Now accompanied by diamond-in-the-rough, front man, and lady killer, Gene Washington brings to The Ironsides the tenacity of his vocal talent with a raw, authentic, and soulful sound.
