Located on the corner of Las Positas Road and Calle Real, Earl Warren Showgrounds is spread across 34 acres of land. The large multi-purpose facility's indoor features include the Exhibit Building, the Warren Hall, the Kramer Arena, a garden and a huge parking lot. This makes it an ideal venue for grand events, trade expos and exhibitions. Events include circuses, trade shows, arts sale, gem fairs, car shows, horse shows and rodeo; the place is abuzz with activities throughout the year.
The site where this structure stands has many stories to tell. It has braved more than few disasters - a fire and an earthquake to name a few. Now it is considered one of Fox's 'atmospheric theaters'. The theatre has Spanish and ancient Californian influences. Shiny windows, stairways and handmade grilles give a glimpse of Spanish architecture. Many film screenings and previews take place here.
Since 1921, this theater, with its traditional setting, has served as a venue for a variety of events. Casa Dolores is a Santa Barbara art museum dedicated to collection and conservation of Mexican arts. Housed in the Botiller Adobe house that was built in 1843, the museum allows free access to the public.
The Lobero Theatre in downtown Santa Barbara is a historical building which was initially an opera house. In 1924, the theater was rebuilt as an arts and cultural center. The Lobero now hosts an array of performances and also functions as a corporate meeting space. The Marjorie Luke Theatre has been an object of awe and a historic landmark known and appreciated by all.
