This colonial village was abandoned following flooding in the year 1833. Today, you can see the ruined church and other buildings, and imagine the lives of the people that lived here long before the modernization of Central America. The church dates from the 17th century and is a good example of colonial architecture. The fiesta of the Virgin of Ujarrás is celebrated annually on the 16th of April.
