The Play Space serves as play center where children can develop their skills in robotics and Lego Mindstorms, which are hardware and software kits to build robots. It conducts regular camps where students are taught programming languages like C and LEGO Mindstorms NXT, and engineering and robotics principles. It also holds competitive leagues that challenge the knowledge and thinking power of contestants. These sessions provide great exposure to technically-oriented children, who will perhaps pursue a career in science, maths or engineering when they grow up.

The San Jose Heritage Rose Garden is part of the Guadalupe River Park & Gardens. Boasting of a motley of more than 2500 varieties of roses in diverse hues, this garden is a delight with young children, families and couples alike. Whether you choose to follow the short trails, have a picnic amid the colorful flowers or just walk slowly with your loved one, admiring the roses, you are sure to have moments of unbridled peace. The garden is maintained through the efforts of volunteers and rose lovers can either choose to volunteer or adopt a rose for a small fee. This garden also provides group tours and free pruning lessons.

Spartan Rec Connect, is one-stop spot for all kinds of recreational and athletic activities. It features an aquatic center, sports club, bowling center, intramural sports, sports club etc; accompanied by a sports club that has mini-gym, fitness room, dance and fitness room, studio, racquetball courts and also locker rooms. All the centers are well equipped and the fitness instructors help and guide throughout the workout. Their Aquatic Center sees swimmers from around the nation.
If you enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, from horseback rides to picnics, then this park is for you. It has been around forever. Up at the end of Alum Rock Avenue, the park is buried in the foothills east of San Jose. On the drive there, you pass some impressive mansions so keep your eyes open. The park features playgrounds and miles of trails. It is a very natural setting in which to enjoy leisure activities. Admission is free.

Monopoly In the Park is situated within the Discovery Meadow and is a unique outdoor attraction. It consists of a giant monopoly board of the dimensions of 930 square feet (86.40 square meters), where adults as well as children can enjoy the classic game with slight modifications. With the huge dice and board, the whole game takes a new turn, full of fresh excitement. Those who are not interested in playing can lounge on the grass and watch the players while they continue a long and often never-ending monopoly session. This attraction also has packages for schools, families and corporates; a game of monopoly in the outdoors might just be a great team building exercise.
This urban farm covers an impressive 47 acres (19.02 hectares). It has school tours, orchards, a barnyard, picnic areas and places to fly kites. It is a great place to bring kids, especially if they like animals as there are numerous breeds of rabbits, chickens, geese and ducks for them to befriend. The property was originally given to the city of San Jose with the intent that it be used as an agricultural learning center, and in this respect, it succeeds admirably. Admission is free.
