Area 51 is a spacious two-story dance club that appeals to the young and stylish crowd. The nightclub features two dance floors, two full-bars, outside patio, pool tables, dart boards and abundant seating area—so you can have fun even if you don't feel like dancing. At the bar, booze and cocktails keep flowing through the night and the music played spans different genres. Theme-parties, karaoke and concert events are held on Friday and Saturday night at the venue. The private club is for members only and admits only those over 18 years of age.
In the popular Pierpont district is where you will find this club. A charge of $10 will get you a temporary membership, but if you will be in the area for an extended length of time, a $35 annual fee will save you some money in the long run. But, even if you have a membership, you may not get in. A strictly enforced dress code of designer duds may keep you out in the cold. Put on your best (dresses, button-down shirts, and jackets) and dance the night away.
Club Sound promises guests upbeat music to groove till the wee hours. A multi-level space, this venue is well-equipped with funky interiors to further add to the vibrant ambiance. A gay-friendly place, this club is also a great spot to socialize with a cool crowd over premium drinks. Expect the best in electronic music spun by DJs. Apart from an indulgent partying scene, Club Sound hosts gigs and concerts by upcoming artists and bands on a regular basis.
The Jeanne Wagner Theater was born out of a community need that was recognized by The Performing Arts Coalition. Wagner, a businessman built this theater in memory of his beloved wife Jeanne. This large theater opened on March 31, 2001, and hosts concerts, plays and musicals, and is a part of Rose Wagner Center and the Salt Lake County Center for the Arts.
Club Xscape is the perfect escape after a long week of working when you simply want to unwind. Put on your dancing shoes and break a leg, and wave that mug of beer while your at it. DJ's keep the beat up with techno and hip-hop right upto the wee hours. The club has a full bar upstairs, a basement and a pop bar on the level floor. The club also serves as an event venue with great sound facilities and good lighting.
Located in the center of downtown Salt Lake City, this classy restaurant overlooks historic Temple Square and offers a beautiful view of the Salt Lake Temple. The Roof restaurant combines elegant dining with the ease and variety of a buffet. The buffet and main course vary according to season, but buffet choices often include prime rib, poached salmon, fruits, salads and pastas. The restaurant also offers a large dessert buffet. Alcoholic beverages are not served.
This bar and grill in downtown Salt Lake has become a local staple for all the good stuff. Recently remodelled to include a fine sushi restaurant, you can choose to play casual in the bar side with some friends, or dine on the fresh sushi in town. Everything from the bar kitchen is homemade, with a fairly extensive menu. The beer-battered fish and chips are a favorite, as is the Reuben sandwich and fish taco. The kitchen closes quite soon, so come early if you want dinner at O' Shucks Bar and Grill.
Located in the Walker Center downtown, next to Kinkos, this recent addition is catching on with the locals. Come in early between 3p to 8p and get half off of all bar fare, or play a game of pool for free. Thanks to the nightly shows and the abundance of jazz fans, this place is becoming known as Salt Lake City's premier jazz club. All shows start at 9:30p, but call ahead for a schedule. Free parking is available in the Walker Center after 6p, with parking validation.
This staple of downtown Salt Lake City has been a local favorite for well over a decade and continues to grow in popularity. More than just your average dive bar, the Cheers to You establishment features themed nights like karaoke on Fridays, the Mug Club for those who'd like to keep their steins in a safe place, pool tables, televisions to catch the latest game and big wide booths for you and your friends to cram into. The food is classic pub grub with offerings like meatball subs and local restaurants that will even deliver!
From the champagne corks affixed to the ceiling to the bright pink bathrooms, this club is impressive and playfully decorated. The club has comfortable overstuffed chairs to lounge in, as well as a vast dance floor. The dress code is comfortable and casual, but jeans are not allowed. The music ranges from live swing, blues and jazz, to DJs mixing techno and dance music. A full service bar and valet are available.
Another one of the members only club, The Woodshed has a stage for performers and patio for patrons to sit back and relax. Smoking is not allowed here and you can enjoy some fresh air on the spacious patio. Games for the pool kinds and drinks for the spirited ones, this place even has a karaoke night on Sundays and Ladies Night happens on Wednesdays,
This is a club where all the piano enthusiasts from Salt Lake City gather. The drinks are available in plenty, while live piano performances go way into the nights.
