The name comes from a group of armed militia men called the Missouri Tigers, who guarded Columbia from Confederate soldiers in 1864 during the Civil War.

The Detroit-based rock band Electric Six is a six-piece outfit that creates music with a dash of metal, new wave, punk and garage rock influences. Formed in 1999 under the title The Wildbunch, the band adopted its new name and spent the first decade of its existence playing shows at local bars like the Old Miami and Gold Dollar in Detroit. After releasing its debut hit single "Danger! High Voltage," in 2003, the band earned widespread attention, particularly in the UK after the rumor got out that Jack White provided backing vocals on the Track. Though the rumor was never confirmed or denied, Electric Six went on to release its first full-length album, Fire, later the same year before embarking on its first tour. The band went on to release several more albums of its disco, glam pop, arena rock music, including its 2008 record, Flashy.

Previously known as The Jakes, Young the Giant is a five-piece alternative rock band from Irvine, CA. The band started as a more melodic response to its local music scene, which drummer Francois Comtois described as consisting of, “a lot of hardcore bands.” The band's urge to try something different paid off, as its music takes on a blend of relaxing and explosive beats and gorgeous guitar riffs, tied together with lead singer Sameer Gadhia’s definitive, raspy voice. The band's breakthrough single, “My Body,” peaked at number five on the Billboard Alternative Songs Chart. With only one self-titled studio album, Young the Giant has been pegged by music legend Morrissey as one of his favorite new bands.

The Reverend Horton Heat is a Texas-based trio and the moniker of its front man and singer/songwriter Jim Heath. Formed in 1985, The Reverend Horton Heat offers an aggressive but endearing psychobilly sound that includes elements of country, punk and rockabilly. While the group has found a fair amount of success on the mainstream market, with songs in multiple commercials, television shows and video games, The Reverent Horton Heat gets most of its support from the close-knit cult following that has been around since the beginning, from the band's 1990 debut album Smoke 'em If You Got'em, to its most renowned effort, 2002's Lucky 7.
