»Good People

March 28, 2015 7:30 PM

The haves and the have-nots come face-to-face in the Broadway hit "Good People". Written by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire ("Rabbit Hole"), this Tony-nominated dramatic comedy finds struggling single mother Margie Walsh laid off from her job at the dollar store and left with the reality that her South Boston neighborhood is providing the same level of opportunity it always has: none. It's the kind of place where, for many people, this month's paycheck covers last month's bills -- and bingo is a big night out on the town. Facing eviction, Maggie's forced to turn to an old high school flame for help. But he's now a successful physician living in the suburbs ... and Margie is way out of her element. With a keen eye for character and an uncanny sense of humor, this Lyric Arts Main Street Stage production of "Good People" explores the struggles, shifting loyalties and unshakable hope that come with having next to nothing in America.

»Buckcherry w/ New Medicine & Cold Kingdom

April 03, 2015 7:30 PM

Formed in Los Angeles in 1995, Buckcherry is a rock band that received commercial success with its 1999 self-titled debut album. Despite its early boost in record sales, the band dissolved in 2002 after a disappointing sophomore effort and an unfinished third album. During the hiatus, front man Josh Todd and guitarist Kieth Nelson collaborated on other projects including a short run with Guns N' Roses members that was eventually canned. Todd and Nelson reformed Buckcherry in 2005 and released the album 15 to the same enthusiasm and critical acclaim as the band's debut effort. With its rediscovered success, the band toured as part of Mötley Crüe's Crüe Fest, shortly after releasing Black Butterlfy in 2008, and accompanied KISS on its 2009 to 2010 North American tour. Buckcherry dropped its fifth studio album All Night Long, in 2010.
