    This museum was once a social center and a general store at the turn of the century. Its enormous collection includes original old-time stock, guns, hardware, advertising art, and house wares. You'll get the feeling as you browse among the Model-T truck, a Conestoga wagon and steam tractor, all while a lively player piano kicks up a tune or two.

    »Old Jail

    The Old John's County Jail is an excellent jumping off point for tours of historic St Augustine. In addition to ample parking, it is home to one of several sightseeing trains, extended covered trucks that ferry tourists between St Augustine's many historic points of note. The Old Jail also features a modest museum and the perennial gift shop, and is just steps from the gates of the old colonial quarter.

    This branch of the Ripley's franchise is unique for no other reason than that it is housed in the former Spanish governor's mansion, a sprawlingly gorgeous historical monument with gabled windows and fascinating architecture. The exhibits are standard for Ripley's and run the gamut from the odd to the downright disturbing.

    This offbeat gallery, housed, as the name implies, in a former garage contains many works of art, predominantly from local artists, that range from the pop-y to the classical. Much of the work is in a tropical or desert kind of meme, with dominant bright colors and earth tones to provide balance. However, something can be found here to suit any taste and style, and it's definitely wort a visit for any collector on a jaunt to St Augustine.

    »Lightner Museum

    Step back to the 19th century at the Lightner Museum in downtown St. Augustine, the nation's oldest city, just 30 minutes south of Jacksonville.     »Villa Zorayda

    In keeping with the Spanish-Moorish theme of much of old Saint Augustine, Villa Zorayda is a sumptuously decorated mock-Arabian palace in the middle of a sleepy Florida college town. Inside, the Villa is no less spectacular, and features the geometric decor and vaulted arches typical of the Alhambra or the palaces of old Cordoba. The Villa is now a museum, and features guided tours and a modest gift shop. The building can also be rented for parties and private functions.
