Island View Beach is located on the eastern coast of Vancouver Island, on the Saanich Peninsula. The beach, a stopover for migratory birds, is a haven for bird watchers. Though this beach is an ideal place for basking in the warm sun, it is usually windy here throughout; carrying warm clothes is advisable. The southern portion of the beach comprises of the Island View Beach Regional Park, that offers camping grounds, picnic areas and refreshment facilities.

»Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park

Located to the north of Saanich, Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park occupies 434 hectares (1,072 acres) of central Vancouver Island. The park was created around the two lakes: Elk Lake and Beaver Lake in 1966. During the early 20th Century, this place was famous for these two lakes, however in the 1950s, attention shifted towards preserving natural sites, which was when this was transformed into the beautiful Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park.
