Butchart Gardens (The)
Mo to Su from 09:00 AM to 04:30 PMLocated in the heart of Brentwood Bay, The Butchart Gardens is a premier group of gardens that attracts a million visitors every year. The gardens were initiated by Jennie Butchart who set-out to convert the exhausted limestone quarry into the Sunken Garden. Since then, various gardens and attractions have been added by her and the following generation of the Butchart family. These include the Italian garden, the large rose garden, the picturesque Ross Fountain and two totem poles. Besides, the garden is also home to a number of bronze statues modeled after animals such as the wild boar, donkey and foal. There is also the kid's Pavilion and the Rose Carousel that comprises collection of live wild animals such as zebras, ostriches, boars and horses. The Butchart Gardens is a designated national historic site and is a perfect place to visit anytime of the year. Check website for admission prices and opening hours.
