Established in 1953, Rome Community Theater has provided a showcase for thousands of talented area residents. They are dedicated to providing quality theatrical education and entertainment to the community.
Nestled in the sprawling campus of the Hamilton College, the Fillius Events Barn is an event venue. It is a part of the Beinecke Student Activities Village, a building dedicated to creative and artistic endeavors. The Utica Uptown Theatre is a historic landmark in the city’s cultural scene. This venue was established in 1927, and since then, despite changing ownerships over the decades, maintains its commitment to performing arts. A historic gentlemen’s club, Fort Schuyler Club is situated in Utica. The club dates back to 1883 and has even witnessed the World War II. Initially, only men were allowed to directly enter the club and women members literally had to make a backdoor entry. From 1981, it allows women complete access and use of all its facilities. Today, the club perfectly combines its traditions and ways of the modern world. Each of the club room retains its classic look but is equipped with modern amenities.
