La P'tite Grenouille Boîte à chansons has clubs all over the city of Quebec, providing top class entertainment at affordable rates. This club in Charlesbourg is no different, with live music on most nights and frequently organizing ladies nights and theme nights. The venue can also be booked for private events. Visit website for details.
Quartier de Lune is where the slightly older crowd goes for a fun night out. No matter when you visit, there is no dull moment here, you might indulge in a buffet on Mondays, enjoy the karaoke night on Wednesdays, play billiards or pool, and watch sports on their TVs. Dance the night away, with live bands playing every now and then.
Blaxton Pub & Grill is a gastropub that is known for its beers and cocktails, in addition to the food, that consists of dishes such as lundi wok and mardi burger. You will generally find sports enthusiasts sitting across the TV, cheering for their favorite team, but on weekends, they have people grooving to the tunes of the DJ. No matter how late, they won't let you go hungry, as the bar has a late snack menu available till 2a every night.
Bar Le Temps Partiel always has something going on. This bar hosts a number of events from time to time, acting as an exhibition space for several artworks and being available for private events as well. Otherwise, it's a friendly neighborhood bar and nightclub that has free pool and free internet on specific days, in addition to theme nights, hosting DJs and live bands and displaying video projections. They also have drinks specials every day of the week.
Nestled in the St Jean Baptiste neighborhood Le Drague Cabaret Club has been serving Quebec City with a hip nightlife spot for over 30 years. Le Drague Cabaret Club is divided into sections; you can choose to enjoy your time with your friends, sipping cocktails at the lounge or enjoying a show at their cabaret zone. Their in-house team of drag queens will amuse you with their acts, that range across various genres: musicals, comedies, drama and more. The DJs fill this place up with uptempo beats; take to the dance floor and groove to the beats.
Maurice Duplessis ruled Quebec with an iron fist throughout the 1950s, one can only imagine what he would think of this pulsating nightclub named, sarcastically, in his honor. With an audio-visual assault occurring throughout, the club offers several themed rooms, the Oriental Sake Bar, the VIP cigar lounge, the Library and the enormous main dance floor. Theme nights include Archie Night, held every Thursday, where knowing the password gets you a free beer.
Ginger is for you, if you happen to be a meat and fish lover. They have a take-out sushi menu that is quite good, but for the full experience you need to have a meal at the restaurant and order their shrimp-scallop tartar or calamari, along with a filet mignon or sirloin steak. Their Nordic cod and tomato salsa is delicious, along with a good range of salads, pastas and pizzas as well. Service could be a little leisurely, but the staff is very friendly and polite. Hit the dance floor in the late evenings and do not miss their Divine Mondays and Mix It Thursdays.
