    »Oregon Convention Center

    The spires of glass that reach up and pierce the Portland skyline are a testimony to this city's appreciation of both art and function in the architectural styles gracing the downtown and waterfront areas. The Convention Center offers more than 500,000 square feet for accommodating meetings, banquets, exhibits, fairs or shows. During the annual Rose Festival, throngs of excited extroverts from all around the world gather at the OCC to view the floats made from millions of flowers—which tour the city every June in the Grand Floral Parade.

    This large rink, located in the middle of Lloyd Center Mall, provides a fun way to spend the day. This is where Tonya Harding trained for the Olympics. Rentals are available, and while it is a popular attraction, the rink does not get too crowded.

    »Rose Quarter

    This complex features the biggest shows and best sports in town. Located near the Oregon Convention Center, see the Portland Trailblazers NBA basketball, concerts with big-name artists, as well as many other exciting events. The area includes the 20,000-seat Rose Garden Arena and  the 12,000-seat Memorial Coliseum. You will appreciate the prime location, just across the river from downtown. The ticket office, located in the middle of the commons, is a good place to find last-minute tickets and avoid fees.

    This intimate theater is set within the Rose Garden. It features floor-to-ceiling curtains and an acoustic cloud. The spectacular 'cloud' panels boost sound absorption, thereby reducing noise control problems. They can also be adjusted to create a custom-tailored acoustic environment for each individual performance. Boyz II Men, Celine Dion, Chicago, Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band, Sarah McLachlan, Shaggy, Sheryl Crow, Snoop Dogg, The Cure, The Moody Blues and Tony Bennett have all taken a walk in the clouds!

    »Memorial Coliseum

    You'll find the Portland Winter Hawks here from September through March. While they're the main attraction on ice, there are other skating shows and competitions here. Concerts and other community events are scheduled throughout the year in this little cousin of the Rose Garden. Located near the Convention Center in Northeast Portland, the stadium is an oval-shaped coliseum encased by a large glass housing. It keeps Portlanders dry and comfortable while they're being entertained. Next to the Rose Garden, it's the biggest draw to the Rose Quarter.

    Viscount Dance Studios, located in the heart of East Burnside's art and entertainment district is a haven for dance lovers, especially swing-dance and Latin American dances. They conduct regular workshops and dance classes. The studios are spacious and are available for rental as well. Housed in a beautifully-restored heritage building, the decor is marvelous.
