Its distance from the main cities, like Scottsdale, Phoenix and Tucson, make this town a favorite, especially among Arizonians, as a holiday spot. The abundance of lakes and the cool climate are a refreshing break from the desert conditions that prevail in most of the state. The town is hub for activities like camping, skiing, fishing, golfing and hiking. Besides, the town also plays host to cultural festivals like the Native American Arts Festival, the High Mountain Music Festival and the Woodland Wildlife Festival. See the website to know more about this naturally blessed town.
Established as Lakeside Public Library in 1930, the Pinetop-Lakeside Public Library existed even before the town was founded. It sustained two fires and in total three name changes. It moved to its present location in 2000. Set in a beautiful single story structure and spanning across 5760 square feet (535.12 square meters), this library is an important part of the community. A part of the Navajo County Library District, it offers various interesting programs for different age groups.
