Famed for its innovative and elaborate costumes, spectacular musical numbers and use of poetry as a narrative structure, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats has dazzled audiences all over the world. Based on T.S. Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats," the audience is introduced to the mysterious, mischievous and magical world of the Jellicle Tribe of cats. The fantastical Jellicle cats emerge and deliver songs that tell the stories of their lives with vivid stagecraft, dance and song. The lives of these imaginative characters are brought to life through Webber's unmistakable compositions and the epic performances that have graced the show.

February 07, 2015 8:00 PM

Michael Eugene Archer, better known by his stage name D'Angelo, is a singer/songwriter who was one of the more notable members of the 1990s neo-soul movement. Born in Virginia and raised in a strict Pentecostalism family, D'Angelo was introduced to music through his church and with his talents realized at a young age, he managed to sign a recording contract with EMI Records in 1991. Though he would go on to write songs for other musicians and bands for a couple of years, after a gestation period D'Angelo would release his debut LP, Brown Sugar, in 1995 to critical laudation and commercial success. Over the course of the 1990s D'Angelo would remain popular amongst followers of soul revival, with songs that achieved mainstream crossover appeal.
