This place was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 and the oak from this area, known as Live Oak wood, was a popular ship building material in the past. Activities in the park include hiking, biking and birdwatching among others. Visitors can also lounge in the picnic area or stroll the nearby beaches.
