Also known as the City Auditorium, Thalia Mara Hall stands as one of Jackson's most utilized civic venues for stage performances. A seating capacity of 2,500 provides an intimate environment for moderate-size productions of all kinds. Public meetings and conventions are accommodated with boardrooms and reception areas adjacent to the main hall, while the backstage area features dressing rooms and showers for theatrical troupes. With its acoustical shell design, Mara Hall is a particular favorite for choral recitals, and is the home to the USA International Ballet Competition.

Located at the Mississippi Fairgrounds Complex, the Mississippi Coliseum is one of Jackson's premier indoor venues. In addition to hosting conventions, public shows, and musical concerts, the Coliseum is home of the Jackson Bandits professional hockey team. It has a permanent seating capacity of 6,500, with an additional capacity for 2,650 temporary seats. Space for 130 8x10 booths is available for trade shows. Special amenities such as light and sound facilities, comfortable dressing rooms, and ample parking make this a top-flight venue for all sorts of special events.
One of the landmark structures in the history of Jackson, the Kirk Fordice Equine Center is the chief livestock exposition facility used during the 12-day Mississippi State Fair. Located within the large Mississippi State Fairgrounds, it is used for cattle shows, horse shows and various competitions. All the facilities within the Center are maintained regularly to ensure the comfort of the animals. It has a large capacity of 2500 seats. It also serves as the venue for the annual Dixie National Rodeo and Livestock Show.

Now in its 35th year as a professional theater, New Stage is one of Jackson's most celebrated cultural institutions. The theater produces a wide range of plays and musicals, from classic Shakespeare to a recent presentation of the hit musical You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. New Stage's full professional season includes a five-show main subscription series, a Christmas show and several children's shows. The theater showcases original work in its Eudora Welty New Plays Series and in its free offerings at Late Nite at New Stage.
Completed in 1981, the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center is in the northwest part of the Jackson State University campus. It is called the AAC arena by the locals, and is home to JSU men's and women's basketball team. The arena seats up to 8,000 and hosts various college level matches. The AAC also houses the Athletics Department and athletic training rooms.
Located in the heart of the Jackson State University campus, the Rose Embly McCoy Auditorium provides students with a platform to showcase their artistic talents. With a seating capacity of over 1000, the auditorium is used for a variety of things ranging from speeches and graduation ceremonies to dance and drama performances.
