»The Wave

About 45 miles 72.42 kilometers from Downtown Page, AZ, The Wave lies smack between the Arizona and Utah border. The unique natural rock formation dates back to the Jurassic era and has been the subject of many a photo shoots. Different positions of the sun in the horizon paint a different picture on the ginormous sandstone rock, each beautiful in its own way, which is why the site is such a favorite of the shutterbugs. The name 'wave' is actually an observation of the U-shaped form that has been carved into the Navajo stone. The site is a part of the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness and can be accessed via Highway 89.
