Petrie Island, situated along the Ottawa River in north-eastern Orleans, is nothing short of nature's brilliance. This island came to existence, with the deposition of clay and sand by the riverbank, owing to geological processes during the Ice Age. One of the largest French language colleges in the province of Ontario, La Cité collégiale is situated in Ottawa.
