    Lockwood De Forest (1850-1932) was an artist who was a well-traveled man and son of a wealthy family. His famous painting The Wreck has been exhibited many times, three times alone in 1880 - at The Century Association, the National Academy of Design in New York City and at the Louisville Industrial Exhibition in Kentucky. The Wreck thematizes life and death in a desert setting. This circle of life is timeless and the skill with which De Forest used his brush and commitment of colors makes the painting seem alive.

    »Lullaby and Goodnight - Children’s Literature from the Morse Collection

    Kate Greenaway, Eulalie Osgood Grover and Mary Dow Brine were all authors of children's books from the early 1900s. During this period, beauty and attention to design was evident everywhere, including in the illustrations of children's literature. The intention was to impress upon children an idea of how life should look. Lullaby and Goodnight - Children’s Literature from the Morse Collection exhibits, in addition to the work of the three famous authors, different glassware, ceramics and dolls from the same period.

    »Vignette: The Art of Fountain Pens

    Vignette: The Art of Fountain Pens is an exhibition at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, that showcases about 100 years of different kinds of fountain pens. This nearly forgotten instrument to write and create with ink changed much between 1875 and 1975, not only in shape, material and nip, but in design and color as well. A large variety of different designs and styles are shown at this exhibition, which is divided into three time periods.

    This exhibition features works by artists like Andy Warhol, Margaret Bourke-White, Felraih Hines and Matthew Brandt. The American illustrator Ramiro Gomez is highlighted with two of his drawings: Hilario and Hector Waiting for their Check and Portrait of an Affluent Family from 2013. All the samples from this exhibition are gifts or purchases from the museum over the last two years and are being dispaied in the permanent exhibit.

    »Allure of Ancient Rome: Old Master Prints and Drawings from the Permanent Collection

    This exhibition shows artifacts, paintings, prints and drawings from that depict the culture and history of Rome since the Renaissance. The images give visitors a look into the everyday life of its citizens between 1540 and 1750. Some of the items on display have rarely been exhibited, while others have been shown on multiple occasions over the years. Roman antiquities represent a crucial look into history. A Roman sarcophagus will also be shown at the exhibition, on long-term loan to Cornell.

    The 2014 Rollins Faculty Exhibition showcases contemporary works of art by different Rollins College faculty members, including Joshua Almond, Dana Hargrove, Dawn Roe, Rose Casterline, Lee Lines, Rachel Simmons and Julian Chambliss. A variety of materials, mediums and colors were used to create the recent works. The showcase for each artist range from single pieces to whole series.

Whether it be his childhood surrounded by drug-use, or his own experiences with drugs and prostitution as an adult, Avalon's unique brand of rap is definitely informed by these experiences in his life. He continues to successfully tour as a rapper, despite being faced with some controversy while opening for other bands in the past.

    Edward S. Curtis (1868-1952), an ethnologist and photographer of Native Americans, has a selection of 40 photographs out of a series of 1,500, exhibited at the Mennello Museum of American Folk Art. Mingled Visions: Images From “The North American Indian” showcases the North American part of the artist's large portfolio. Edward Curtis wanted to document the culture and traditions of the American Indians before the ethnological group disappeared.

Those pieces are featured in the exhibition Native American Art and Artifacts. The Native American belongings are from tribes from the Southwest and the Pacific Northwest.

    »Prehistoric/Historic Southwest Pottery

    The Anasazi (also called Pueblo) were prehistoric farmers from the Southwest's Four Corner area who created handmade ceramics with strikingly dynamic surfaces. The pottery, woven baskets with clay linings and moldings, bear surfaces with unique black-on-white designs.  These designs, invented in the 8th Century, include different messages with particular social, ethnic and linguistic meaning.
