This alternate airport, located a little less than an hour away from Palm Springs, is served by Alaska, Delta, Northwest, TWA, United, America West, American, Continental and Southwest airlines, with connections to international flights to Amsterdam, Beijing and many other major cities. The airport is much quicker and cheaper to use than LAX. Travelers are advised to rent a car from one of the six major on-site agencies, because taxi service to Palm Springs and Los Angeles, while available, will be expensive.
