    »Brookside Golf Course

    Brookside is not technically located in OKC, it is in Moore, but nonetheless it's a great course to learn how to swing from the pros. In addition to its status as a premier golf course, the instructors in the clubhouse can also teach younger golfers how to properly use mechanics in their stroke while out on the greens. There are plenty of courses throughout the OKC region, however this one allows golfers with high handicaps to mulligan over-and-over again without too much fuss.     »Blazers Ice Centre

    This ice rink located in South OKC is everyone's favorite place to cool down and learn how to skate. This place is for the entire family, where kids and adults alike can come and learn about figure skating, hockey and everything else there is to do on the ice. The ice center is open seven days a week and it can also be rented for your next event like a birthday party or corporate gathering, whatever the occasion you can rest assured that you will have some cool fun.

    »Earlywine Park

    Get out and experience Oklahoma's beautiful weather at Earlywine Park. Families can spend the afternoon picnicking and playing on the playground. For sporting enthusiasts, a highly regarded golf course presents a welcome challenge. In addition, a tennis center and a soccer and softball field are located on the grounds. If you prefer solitary activities, suit up for a jog on the park's one-and-a-half mile trail. If exercise is not on your mind, just get comfortable and enjoy a southwestern sunset. Kids will enjoy the Earlywine pool and water park that are located inside the park as well.

    »Earlywine Park Golf Course

    This public golf course is actually two courses; one easy, one a little harder. There is a driving range and four putting greens on which to practice, as well as chipping and pitching facilities. Need to improve your game? Get a golf lesson from the pro while you are here. There is a snack shop and restaurant, but there is no bar on-site.

    »Mat Hoffman Action Sports Park of Oklahoma City

    This skatepark named after the phenomenal BMX freestyle rider Mat Hoffman is rated one of the best parks to skate in the country. It has three different areas, each with different skill levels for those on their skateboard, rollerblades and/or on their bikes. The course has an 11-ft. halfpipe, street obstacles and rails and it is entirely 'skate at your own risk' here, so bring a helmet.

    »Orr Family Farm

    The Orr Family Farm is an actual working farm that has a wide variety of attractions perfect for the whole family. Go on a thrilling zip-line ride, take a spin on the renovated antique carousel, try your luck by panning for "gold" in the mining slue, or find your way out of the 'Amaze'n Maze'. There are also a lot of other attractions like the petting zoo that are sure to entertain little tots. Here, the kids can cuddle with friendly animals at the barn or go on a pony ride. Another adventure is the miniature train that goes on a mile-long trip around the farm. Check website for event calendar and more information.

    »Trosper Park Golf Course

    This south-side public golf course is a great place for beginners because it is not too challenging. There are only seven traps and four water hazards in 18 holes. You can practice on the putting green and chipping areas, and drive some balls at the driving range. Afterward, enjoy a beer in the snack bar.

    »Stockyards City

    Stockyards City is a historical part of town that showcases all things Western. When settlers arrived, they used the area as a cattleyard and over the decades it became dotted with packing plants throughout. Today, the cattle market still functions as one of the largest in the world. The packing warehouses are gone, most are replaced with western wear shops and great restaurants, try the popular Cattlemen's Steakhouse, the steaks are outstanding. One of the highlights for guests is the ability to saunter out over a walkway to see the bovines mooing below in the National Stockyards Exchange. If you would like to see a place that played an integral role in the city's history, come down and check out this interesting neighborhood, you might even find that perfect cowboy hat!

    »South Lakes Regional Park

    Enjoy the great outdoors at this 158 acre park. With walking trails, half basketball courts and picnic areas, this is the perfect place to spend the day. Children will love playing on the large playground with swings and a play area. The park is well-known for its soccer fields where the South Lakes Soccer Club hold games throughout the year. If you don't want to play a spot, just walk around and enjoy the scenery. Have a picnic by one of the two lakes and admire the waterfall next to the pedestrian bridge.

    »Oklahoma River Trails

    The Oklahoma River is an offshoot of the Mighty Mississippi hundreds of miles away to the east. Thankfully, it is still a viable river perfect for recreation and leisure on its banks. The asphalt trails on both sides of the river cover 13-miles, however there is no way to cross from one side to the other! To access the north trail, start at Regatta Park and to access the south, there is an entrance at SW 15th and Sheridan. One other note, the OKC Parks Department does not allow motorized vehicles, only pedestrian and cycling activity.

    Do airplanes amaze your child? Maybe you still harbor a childlike wonder for these powerful crafts. If so, check out this popular summer event. Visitors can tour all types of planes and learn about aviation. Afterward, relax in the shade underneath a parachute tent and watch some breathtaking aerial aerobatics; some performances even come with music accompaniment, fireworks or colored engine smoke. Do not miss the crowd-favorite 69th Battalion, otherwise known as the Blue Angels. It is worth braving Oklahoma's summer heat for this one. Admission is free.

    »Oklahoma City Riversport

    The OKC Riversport is part of the larger complex along the river known as the Boathouse District. The district includes different boathouses where people can rent kayaks, canoes and dragon boats at reasonable prices depending on the amount of time they're used. Riversport Adventures is the highlight of the district, here visitors will find zip-lines, extreme jumps, slides and climbing walls in addition to everything else that floats on the lazy Oklahoma River. It is no wonder why this place is so popular amongst those that enjoy adventure and thrills. After a long exhausting day outdoors, guests can catch a water taxi on the Bricktown Canal to the historic neighborhood of the same name for a drink or a bite to eat at one of the many bars and restaurants.
