Located over Park Street Bridge, Gold Coast Grill gave Alameda its first taste of Greek cuisine. An extremely cozy restaurant, it gives you the opportunity to sample some mouthwatering delicacies nightly. Dishes like the roasted rack of lamb and veal medallions in champagne sauce are hugely popular, and deservedly so. If you're in the mood for seafood, the pan-roasted Alaskan halibut and grilled Atlantic salmon with caper vinaigrette are also delicious. A wonderful wine list is also on offer.

Brotzeit Lokal is a restaurant and beer-garden and houses over 15 craft beers from Germany! They also house over 10 craft beers from USA and from Belgium. As far as beers are concerned, they always have something new or something special. They also serve brunch, lunch and dinner. Food here has German influence. It is a great place for families as well as friends, to enjoy good food and good beer under the bright Oakland sky and the views of the water.
Bellanico, is a friendly and easygoing restaurant serving good quality Italian meals at reasonable prices. The most popular items on their menu are the Seared Berkshire Pork Belly, Casunzei ravioli, Argula and Treviso Radicchio and Hand Crafted Burrata. The restaurant is well known for its food, though its casual ambience also aids in a pleasant time, with friends or close ones. The staff is professional and pleasing, meeting every need and attending to the guests. Service is top-notch too. The wine list is another good reason to dine here.
The Fireside remains a gathering spot for Alameda locals since opening in 1942. This neighborhood lounge serves a list of craft beers and spirits sourced exclusively from local breweries and distilleries. Enjoy a pint or cocktail at one of the Island’s longest bars or play some pool or foosball. They occasionally host entertaining theme nights, open mic sessions and live music. Their weekly Jazz Organ Happy Hour is a big draw among patrons.
The New Easy quickly rose to be one of the city's best bars for artisan cocktails made with all fresh ingredients and some liquors you may have never even heard of before. The menu is full of inventive concoctions, although you can of course always go with the classics or one of their beers on tap. If you're feeling particularly adventurous you can ask one of the talented bartenders to create something just for you. They also serve up some delicious food dishes that go great with the libations. On Saturdays they serve up special cocktails made from ingredients bought at the Farmer's Market across the street.
Encuentro is a modern, comfortable, airy restaurant located near Oakland's historic Jack London Square. The restaurant is entirely vegetarian, with a healthy amount of vegan options as well, so vegetarians will be able to eat to their heart's delight. The contemporary Californian cuisine that uses fresh, quality ingredients features dishes like Sweet Potato "Samositas", BBQ Tempeh Sandwich, and Fig and Chevre Bruschetta, which are so delicious the carnivores out there won't even miss the meat! In addition to all the meat-free fare Encuentro is also a wine bar, so needless to say the wine list features excellent selections, and Encuentro also has a small selection of beers.
This friendly neighborhood saloon is conveniently located right next to Lake Merritt in the Lakeshore business district of Oakland. Come and enjoy the casual atmosphere inside and out as Heart & Dagger features a charming garden patio perfect for hanging out with friends on a nice day. Don't forget to take advantage of the jukebox, pool table, tabletop Pacman and several pinball games. The saloon often hosts "theme" nights and features various drink specials throughout the week. When you walk into Ruby Room you will immediately get it. Dimly lit with red lights (hence the name) with a smoke-filled back room (one of the few), Ruby Room is a hipster hangout. Large drinks for reasonable prices and pool tables make this downtown watering hole a popular spot with the twenty-something crowd. Ruby may not be for everyone, but those who like it keep coming back.
Room 389 is a trendy little bar located right next to Lake Merritt. The bar has a nice fenced in area out front to enjoy warm days and nights, and inside the decor is modern and simple. The long bar area leads back to a decent sized dance or lounge area, depending on the night. Sports fans will enjoy the TVs at either end of the bar. Overall Room 389 is an enjoyable neighborhood bar, not too fancy, not too divey, but the perfect balance.
Have an uninterrupted view of azure waters and tranquil surrounds at The Terrace Room, located inside the Lake Merritt Hotel & Apartment. A splendid location to take in the early morning breeze and the rising sun, it serves pancakes, eggs and fruits for brunch and sandwiches and salads during lunch time. The Crispy Crab Cakes and Brussels and Bacon are good dinner options. The ideal way to spend time here is to grab a glass of cocktail, sit with a group of friends and feast on the views of the lake outside.The service is good, and staff is accommodating.
