Habitot Children's MuseumMarch 04, 2015 10:30 AM
2065 Kittredge Street
Berkeley, CA 94704
Very Special Guest Madeline Tasquin of The Bug Family Band will be singing and dancing with Tots in lieu of Teacher Toni!  Come Join Maddy!  Canadian-Californian songcrafter and multi-instrumentalist Madeline Tasquin sometimes dresses up as a bumblebee and sings 4-part harmonies with The Bug Family Band, other times you can find her singing her original jazz-tinged folk and classical-tinged pop with her band Madeline Tasquin Trading Company at places like La Peña Cultural Center and Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse. With a beautiful and natural 4-octave voice, a stage presence that radiates joy, and her ukulele, guitar, and piano in tow, Madeline is always sure to entertain and engage her audience, living her belief as a self-taught musician that Music exists inside us all.  Madeline has led group music-making fun with Oakland's Sarah's Science Camp, at independent musicplay groups locally, and as part of The Bug Family Band at schools, birthday parties, High Sierra Music Festival and local venues including the kids concert series at Ashkenaz and La Peña.      Come sing along with Teacher Toni "Tone" and special musical guests. Dance with puppets and silk scarves to Beatles and childhood songs: Yellow Submarine, Octpus' Garden, Here Comes the Sun, Baby Beluga, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Little Star, The Puppet Dance Song and more!  This high energy class will get you and your tot moving and grooving!   About Teacher Toni "Tone": Toni is the Special Events and Class Camp Manager for Habitot Children's Museum.  She brings a deep passion for facilitating creative learning through play, music, and art for people of ALL ages. Toni is also an accomplished puppeteer and puppet maker. She performs regularly with several Bay Area productions, such as The Billion Jelly Bloom and the Big Tadoo Puppet Crew to name a few.  Beyond the Bay, she has performed for PBS, Google, Donnie Disco Presents, Seanna Sharpe, The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Bread and Puppet, Take Three Presents, the Fremont Arts Council, UME Place, The Oregon Country Fair, and many other festivals, organizations, schools and businesses.  She also sings and performs puppets for Bay Area performers, such as CelloJoe, the Justin Ancheta Band, and Rock The Bike.
