Many artifacts, remains and relics have been found here that belong to the village of Mississippians and the many tribes that lived in the area. The museum has a collection of these artifacts which is known to be the largest in the country. The collection depicts a lot about the contemporary culture and lifestyle of the people. Prior to the beginning of this century, Justin Gaffrey enjoyed successful careers in other professions. Ultimately, his passion for creating drove him to lead a purely artistic life as a visual artist. He now owns two galleries, one of which also serves as a studio in which he displays and sells his acrylic paintings. His style mixes both painting and sculpting. Although he sells his works exclusively through his gallery in Seaside and the gallery/studio in Blue Mountain Beach, his works are now widely collected throughout the country.
Born and raised in the area, Andy Saczynski finally realized his dream of displaying his art in his very own gallery on Highway 30A in 2012. Don't expect his works to be traditional oil or watercolor paintings. However, if you're looking for a statement piece this is the right place. His pieces usually include materials like reclaimed wood, recycled instruments, and metal sheets. Ever since winning the 2013 South Walton Artist of the Year Award, Saczynski's popularity has grown immensely.
