The Puke Ariki is an unusual combination of a museum, a library and a tourist information center located in Central New Plymouth. The library at Puke Ariki has an impressive collection of books, fiction, rare titles, references materials and multimedia content. Situated across an area of 47 hectares, the Pukekura Park and Brooklands Park are two gardens located close to each other, that are considered the best places to visit when in New Plymouth. The parks have an impressive collection of plants, shrubs and trees that have been brought here from native as well as alien lands. Each year, thousands of visitors flock to these parks to rest by the shade of majestic deciduous trees as well as to have a glimpse of rare shrubs and plants.
